Four Storm G98 Players Commit to Top Collegiate Programs

National Signing Day was filled with excitement, elation, and ultimately a profound sense of accomplishment for the San Luis Obispo SC players, families, and coaching staff who have all been so committed to towards this goal.

This year marked a special moment for the Storm G98 program (oldest girls team in our club) as four players on their roster signed letters of intent with elite level collegiate programs in California. “For myself, as a head coach of the Storm G98 program, but most importantly as the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Girls/Storm side of our fantastic club, today is a special day for our club as we celebrate the efforts and fantastic achievement of these four young women, who have earned the opportunity to continue their soccer careers at the collegiate level. The philosophy of our Senior Academy (oldest age groups) is to provide a competitive training and playing environment which ultimately provides players the opportunity to continue their soccer careers beyond high school if they choose to do so. These four players have had the privilege of experiencing this training methodology and competitive environment which will allow them to compete and experience success at the next level. – Bernardo Silva.”

National Signing Day is a dramatic annual event when athletes from around the country commit to a college program. For many athletes this is a life changing moment – years of hard work, sacrifice, and commitment have now resulted in realizing their dream of high level education.

“In our program at San Luis Obispo Soccer Club, we have discussions with our older players about the importance of having a balanced perspective on life and that goes as well for their college experience. There has been a lot of work done off-the-field by these four girls and families in terms of researching the best college fit for their daughter’s needs and our coaching staff has offered guidance throughout the whole recruiting process, facilitating discussions with college coaches and campus visits. Ultimately this is a special day for all family members, teammates, and coaches that have contributed along the way for the growth and development of these four amazing young women. We are proud and excited about their future in this world. – Bernardo Silva.”

We congratulate the following today on their accomplishments:

Gabriela Flores (goalkeeper) – California Lutheran University

Emma Hotaling – Cal Poly

Ashley Von Tillow – Sonoma State University
